Netflix and Amazon up their Web Video streaming

After all the hullabaloo with the web video streaming company Netflix on price hikes, stopping video rentals and setting up Qwikster, Netflix seemed to be a little on edge. But now they have sparked a distribution deal with DreamWorks Animation which will allow Netflix to stream all of the DreamWorks films.
The deal isn’t slated to start until 2013 which is a bit far away but still a big step forward for Netflix, especially as the web video streaming company looked like they were starting to dwindle away.
Amazon have also announced a deal with Fox Broadcasting Company, which will allow the newcomer to the scene Amazon Prime’s subscribers to have unlimited access to an additional 11,000 movies and TV shows. Amazon already has deals with CBS, NBC Universal, Sony and Warner Bros, so this move will make Amazon quite a competitor for Netflix.
Amazon launched their web video streaming service ‘Prime Instant Video’ last February and has steadily got more and more content. It offers unlimited streaming for cheaper than Netflix, so Amazon might give Netflix a real run for their money.
