UK’s Advertising Viral Videos

We do have branded entertainment in the UK!

It comes with the name of advertising viral videos:

They seem to get around everywhere and travel across the globe. The advertisements appear on UK television and then you can find extended versions and spin-offs online.

The main characteristic with branded entertainment from the UK is that they are almost devoid of narrative.

Also known as “lovemarks”, these advertisements are usually clever little pieces of video featuring something really extra-ordinary:

  • A nifty show of technical trickery.
  • Celebrities doing something peculiar.
  • Visuals that makes you question wether the video is true or not.
  • A feat seemingly impossible to perform.

The good thing about this approach is that it is least likely to upset anyone but maintains that “incredible!” factor. Maybe that explains Why do UK Video Always Seem to Go Viral?

The humour or difficulty that goes into these videos can be enjoyed by people from very diverse backgrounds and cultures. Sometimes they don’t even need to understand the language being spoken, meaning the videos can travel further.
